Most valuable data types
What buyers want from insurance companies.
Insurance is a document-heavy, conversation-heavy business, and almost none of it is public. Developers building claims automation, underwriting assistants and policyholder service tools need real claims narratives, calls and coverage documents from the carriers, agencies and TPAs that handle them every day.
Claims files with adjuster notes and outcomes
Loss descriptions, reserves, adjuster notes and final payments in one record teach models how claims are evaluated and settled. The outcome is what makes the notes valuable.
About transactions and operationsFirst notice of loss, claims and service calls
Calls from policyholders describing accidents and losses are emotionally varied, vocabulary-rich speech that voice agents and claims intake tools need.
About call recordings and transcriptsPolicy forms, endorsements and underwriting guidelines
Coverage language and the rules for applying it train models to read policies and answer coverage questions, a task public text barely covers.
About documents and knowledge basesClaim photos and inspection imagery
Photos of vehicle damage, roofs and water losses paired with the estimate or settlement are labeled vision data that is hard to assemble any other way.
About images and videoAgency service and renewal correspondence
Years of certificate requests, endorsement changes and renewal negotiations show how insurance is actually serviced day to day.
About email and internal commsUnderwriter and adjuster decisions with reasons
Approve, decline and refer decisions with written rationale are expert judgments that are among the scarcest records in the industry.

What drives the range
- Claims notes paired with outcomes
- Consent records for call recordings
- Smaller volume keeps the range modest
Compliance
State insurance privacy laws, HIPAA and GLBA handled with your counsel
Policyholder and claimant information is de-identified before any sample is shared, under a plan reviewed against state insurance privacy laws and the GLBA rules that apply to insurers and agencies. Where claims contain health information, HIPAA de-identification standards are applied as well. Call recording consent records are checked, carrier and TPA agreements are reviewed for data rights, and buyers are contractually barred from re-identification attempts. The review is done with your counsel and documented in the contract.
Standards in play
- State insurance information and privacy acts
- GLBA privacy and safeguards rules
- HIPAA where health claims exist
- Call recording consent review
FAQ
Insurance questions
Our carriers own the policy data. What can an agency actually license?
Carrier agreements vary, and the rights review sorts out what is yours: service notes, call recordings, correspondence and agency management system records are usually the agency's, while policy and claims data may be shared or carrier-owned. We map this with your counsel before anything is valued.
Claims include medical records and accident details. Is that a problem?
Health information in claims is de-identified to HIPAA standards, and personal and accident details are removed or generalized before any buyer sees a sample. Files that cannot be adequately de-identified are excluded.
Do we need consent from policyholders for the call recordings?
Recording consent is checked against your existing disclosures and the laws of the states involved, and de-identification removes personal details from the audio and transcripts. If a set of calls lacks adequate consent records, it stays out.
