Most valuable data types
What buyers want from healthcare companies.
Health AI is one of the best funded areas of model development, and public medical data is small, old and heavily reused. Developers building diagnostic, documentation and patient communication tools need recent, real-world records from ordinary practices, not just academic hospitals.
Medical imaging with reports
Radiology, dermatology, pathology and dental images paired with the written report are among the most requested datasets for diagnostic models.
About images and videoClinical notes and encounter documentation
De-identified notes teach models medical language, reasoning and documentation structure that public text does not contain.
About documents and knowledge basesPatient access and scheduling calls
Front desk, triage and nurse line calls train voice agents for healthcare, where vocabulary and tone matter.
About call recordings and transcriptsClaims, billing and prior authorization records
Years of claims with denial reasons and appeal outcomes train revenue cycle and payer interaction models.
About transactions and operationsPatient portal messages and support tickets
Written patient questions and staff answers are real, high-quality health conversation data.

What drives the range
- Imaging paired with reports commands a premium
- Twelve years of history across many providers
- HIPAA de-identification cost reduces the net range
Compliance
HIPAA de-identification before any buyer sees anything
Protected health information is removed under the HIPAA Safe Harbor or Expert Determination method before samples are shared, and the method is documented in the contract. Business associate agreements, patient consent language and state privacy laws are reviewed with your counsel. Buyers are contractually prohibited from re-identification attempts.
Standards in play
- HIPAA Safe Harbor or Expert Determination
- Business associate agreements
- State health privacy laws

FAQ
Healthcare questions
Is it legal to license patient data?
Properly de-identified data is no longer protected health information under HIPAA, and licensing it is lawful. Every deal is reviewed with your counsel and documented. We never license identifiable patient data.
Do we need patient consent?
De-identified data generally does not require individual consent under HIPAA, but your notice of privacy practices, state law and any research agreements are checked first. If consent is needed, we say so before anything moves.
What about our EHR vendor's terms?
Some EHR contracts restrict data extraction or claim rights over derived data. The rights review covers your vendor agreements before valuation is finalized.
