Referral partner terms
Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms govern participation in the Knowledge Fuel referral partner program. By submitting the referral form or making an introduction, you agree to them. A signed referral agreement, where one exists, controls over these terms.
1. Qualifying introductions
An introduction qualifies when (a) you introduce a company to Knowledge Fuel in writing, by email or through the referral form, before Knowledge Fuel has had substantive contact with that company about licensing its data; (b) the company acknowledges the introduction; and (c) a data licensing transaction with that company closes within 24 months of the introduction.
- Introductions must identify the company and a contact.
- Knowledge Fuel will confirm within five business days whether the company is already in its pipeline.
- The first qualifying introduction for a given company controls.
2. Payout
For each qualifying introduction, Knowledge Fuel pays the partner ten percent (10%) of Knowledge Fuel's net revenue from data licensing transactions closed with the introduced company during the 24 months following the introduction. Net revenue means amounts actually received by Knowledge Fuel from the buyer, less amounts paid to the data seller, taxes, and third-party costs directly attributable to the transaction such as de-identification and delivery costs.
3. Timing and statements
Payouts are made within 30 days after Knowledge Fuel receives the corresponding payment from the buyer. Each payout is accompanied by a statement showing the transaction, the net revenue it was calculated from and the partner's share. Payouts require a completed tax form (for example IRS Form W-9) and a valid payment method.
4. Partner obligations
- Make only truthful statements about Knowledge Fuel and its services, consistent with the materials on this website.
- Do not promise any valuation, price or outcome to an introduced company.
- Do not collect, handle or transmit any company's data on Knowledge Fuel's behalf.
- Comply with applicable anti-spam, privacy and anti-bribery laws, and disclose any conflict of interest with an introduced company.
- Do not represent yourself as an employee or agent of Knowledge Fuel.
5. Knowledge Fuel obligations
- Follow up on introductions within one business day.
- Keep the partner informed of material progress, subject to confidentiality owed to the introduced company.
- Pay qualifying payouts on time and provide statements as described above.
6. Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential any non-public information received from the other in connection with the program, including transaction values, and use it only for the program. This obligation survives termination.
7. Term and termination
Either party may end participation at any time by written notice. Payouts continue to accrue for qualifying introductions made before termination, for the remainder of their 24-month window, provided the partner has not materially breached these terms.
8. Independent parties
Partners are independent contractors. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, partnership or joint venture relationship. Partners are responsible for their own taxes.
9. Changes
Knowledge Fuel may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date. Changes do not reduce payouts for introductions already made.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Johnson County, Kansas.
