Education data
Years of graded work and tutoring sessions could fund your next program.
Tutoring companies, online course providers, test prep firms, corporate training companies and private schools hold years of graded assessments, session recordings, lesson content and learner support conversations that AI developers need. We handle de-identification, consent review, buyer vetting and contracts alongside your counsel. You keep ownership and approve every use.

Most valuable data types
What buyers want from education companies.
Education is one of the most visible uses of AI assistants, and developers need to teach models how to grade, explain and adapt, not just recite facts. Graded student work and recorded instruction are scarce because they sit inside schools and education companies, and public datasets are small and old.
Graded assignments, essays and rubric scores
Student work scored by trained graders against a rubric is the most sought after education data, because it teaches models to evaluate and give feedback.
About expert annotations and workflowsTutoring and instruction session recordings
Recorded one-on-one and small group instruction shows how explanations adapt to a learner, which tutoring assistants are trying to reproduce.
About call recordings and transcriptsCurriculum, lesson plans and course content
Structured instructional material with learning objectives and practice items trains models to teach a topic in sequence rather than just answer about it.
About documents and knowledge basesLearner questions and instructor responses
Forum posts, help requests and instructor answers are real learning conversations in the learner's own words.
About support tickets and chatsEnrollment, progress and completion records
De-identified progress and outcome data connect the content and sessions above to results, which personalization models need.

Illustrative estimates based on public benchmarks and our valuation model. Actual value depends on uniqueness, quality, rights and buyer demand. How we estimate
What drives the range
- Rubric-scored work from trained graders
- Session recordings with consent on file
- Records of minors require stricter de-identification and consent review
Compliance
FERPA, COPPA and state student privacy laws handled with your counsel
Student names, identifiers and any information that could identify a learner are de-identified before a sample is shared, and the method is reviewed with your counsel against FERPA where education records are involved, COPPA for any data about children under 13, and state student privacy laws and school contracts. Consent and recording disclosures from enrollment agreements are checked, and data that cannot be adequately de-identified or lacks consent is excluded. Buyers are contractually barred from re-identification attempts and from any use targeting students.
Standards in play
- FERPA for education records
- COPPA for data on children under 13
- State student privacy laws and school contracts
- Enrollment consent and recording disclosures
FAQ
Education questions
Our students are minors. Can any of this be licensed?
Sometimes, with stricter handling. Data about children under 13 is governed by COPPA and is generally excluded unless verifiable parental consent covers the use, and all student records are de-identified under a method reviewed with your counsel. Adult learner and corporate training data is usually simpler.
Do school district contracts prevent us from licensing data?
Often they restrict it, since district agreements typically treat student data as the district's. The rights review separates data under district contracts from data you collected directly from consumers or corporate clients, and only what you clearly hold is included.
Is graded student work really worth more than our course content?
Usually, yes. Course content is valuable, but scored work with rubrics and feedback is expert judgment that developers cannot generate themselves, and even modest volumes attract interest.
